Pavel Tomasek Czech Republic Pavel recently completed 30
weeks of IELTS Preparation and Intensive Academic Preparation at the Hawthorn English
Language Centre - Melbourne. He had previously travelled to England and the United
States, and after graduating from the University of Economics in Prague, Pavel decided to
study in Australia.Pavel's agent in the Czech Republic recommended Hawthorn to him. " I really enjoyed the Melbourne lifestyle and I noticed that at Hawthorn my English was really improving. I was also surprised by the broad after-school activities. I played soccer every week, and went on golf and surfing excursions. I also went to the TOEFL Preparation class after my lessons." Of the Intensive Academic Preparation program, Pavel said, "My IAP class was challenging. I learned a lot of useful things and thought it was intellectually stimulating. A Turkish friend of mine said that IAP helped him immensely at university and that he even has an advantage over the Australian students." After completing his course at Hawthorn, Pavel returned to the Czech Republic where he hopes to find a job where he can use his newly acquired English-language skills.
