for applying for Grad.Dip. depands on the requirement of
each grad. school and/or university. For instance, you will be
requested to provide your protfolio with your application for
Grad.dip of Design programs. Nevertheless, the application
procedures are basically similar among the universities in UK.

As to the exams, fulfilling the requirement on IELTS or TOEFL
test is essential.

There are also National Diploma and HND in UK, but I think
they are not what you meant.
